I had a chance to buy an old used Tele when I was a kid and I was short about $25 so I bought a Hagstrom instead!! I wish I had that old Tele today. It was a 60s model.
Yeah, its the same - 72 Standard. I bought it new at EU Wurlitzer in Boston for $279 including the Fender hardshell case. Sales tax back then was only 3%, and I had $300 cash in my pocket that day. My buddy had a few more bucks and bought an SG for $325 plus tax.
Don't tell my wife the Tele is worth about 20X that now!
