VU and Lou Reed are very much a 'secret' up here in New England. Whenever I play 'Sweet Jane' there's about 1 person in 10 who recognizes the song.

So they're not "... listenin' to that fine fine music?" Lives not changed by rock and roll? And that close to NYC!

I used to sing Sweet Jane but for some bizarre reason always had to switch to guitar - the bass part ain't rocket science but I couldn't do it and sing.

Boston and New York were a world apart when it came to 'popular' music in the 60s/70s. Luckily, we got the underground FM radio stations pretty early, so those of us who tried could hear a lot of music never played in New England.
