welcome back DG.
it's good to see you poking your head in around these parts. there's actually been some conversating of a musical nature around these parts of late.
my story w the Dead...i dug their first few albums and some of their tunes thereafter but....a deadhead? nope.
i've always appreciated phil's approach to bass .....and well, the guy did play a Starfire!
(and now that i think about, so did GARCIA!!!)

I have a co-writer that was a dedicated Deadhead, following them all over the place....and that has influenced a lot of the songs we've written together.
I have many friends who were Deadheads, but I never understood them. It was spiritual experience brought on by LSD from what I can tell.
.

Deadhead? No. Grateful Dead fan? Yes.
Saw them twice in the 90s. Love their music. Love to watch them on YouTube. It was the only thing I could put on that would send my kid screaming away from the computer.
My favorite Dead related thing is Hooteroll.

You don't need acid to listen or appreciate the Dead Mr.Yod
Lots of lyrical nods to the Old Testament
And a arrangement style that has a classic Americana feel.
They aren't for everyone
