BM Members... who's up for a musical project?

so, here's my idea.... we tried a collaboration thing a while back and that took the smoker to nowheresville.
this time i thought it might be fun and interesting if we took a chord progression, and everyone came up with their own idea(s) of how to approach it, and so dress it up in whatever clothes and instrumentation you 'd like....
record and arrange it as a waltz, a straight up pop tune, a heavy metal throw down, a bolero, WHATEVER floats your boat! hey, some of you lyric guys like Ted and Mike B might even go that route. after you've recorded your version put it up on your profile page....or i suppose we could do a drop box thing....or????
could be a single instrument.... or a multitracked masterpiece (masterbastionpiece?).
w all the good musicians on this forum, i think it'd be most interesting to hear what folks come up with! and who knows...we might be able to put some of the sniping aside for two minutes or so, doing the one thing we all love and have in common.
i know that not everyone has access to the latest recording equipment or a way to post.....for those folks like (schmed and dayne) you might just film a little youtube w your phone (or someone else's) put it up and share the link.
ok, who's up?
since this is my idea, i get the to pick the first chord progression. and remember, you can arrange this w ANY feel you like....repeat the A section twice or 20 times your call before going to the B section. whatever.
here's some chords i was messing around with earlier that might be a good (and not too cliche) vehicle for everyone to run with and sink their teeth into.
A Section:
Em7/ BbMaj7/ 4x (or 8, 16 ...whatever)
B Section:
FMaj7/ Am7/ BbMaj7/ BbMaj7/
FMaj7/ Am7/ BbMaj7/ B7/
thoughts? who's in?

it's just a demo, and near the end, there are some big bang noises?, I don't know if it was the body of the guitar banging up against the computer desk, or if it is that blasted recording software or at least the sound card doing it.. couple rythmic mistakes or at least almost mistakes but they could be covered up with another instrument drowning them out, damn, if I am going to try punching in and out.. a couple 1 or 1.5 second time second sections..

planetguy, put me up for a couple three days room & board and I am sure we could get it knocked out in that time frame, I will play the same set of rhytym chords... you work something new on top of that with your vibraphone or guitar..it will be "The Last Goodbye" version 2, with a similar arrangement, but we do it on better recording gear(yours), I know you gonna love it.. you might love it in it's raw and under-produced form even .. you got good ears planetguy and that is what I need, a good co-producer..

is there anyway to break this down or focus it into one genre? otherwise I feel it will be too dis-organized, Stevie Ray Vaughan never would have worked with Jobim, and Pat Metheney would probably have never worked with B.B. King since their "stylings" were too different.. maybe if we go ahead with this collaboration, we first would need to decide what genre? or have several of us BandMix participants working on assigned genres.. just thinking out loud..

dayne....i was not thinking of this a "collaboration" project per se.
my thought was that anyone interested in participating would each record their own "complete" version of the song....in whatever style/genre they choose.
then we could all check out what everyone came up (and how different....how much the same) using the same chord sequence as a blueprint for the foundation.
capiche? does that make sense?

ok planetguy, I will be enjoying this project from the sidelines due to no access to high speed internet, and in the mean-time I will be kicking back listening to Curly Joe Harper "Urban Scuffle" - P-Jazz @ West Winery Macon, Mo. - & "Live & Live In The Studio"... maybe schmed will have some good ideas..

dayne, go ahead and record your version(s) of it on the system you have...dump it off on a cd and mail it to me, then i'll post it for public consumption.
i bet i'm not the only one who'd like to hear what you come up with.
jimmy, likewise...i'd love to hear what you create out of those chords. studio-scmoodio. i bet you have some kind of way to record at home, no?
this brings up a good point.....we all would like to record in a boutique high dollar studio to get a a super sounding (fidelity wise) recording. but for this deal i think it'd be nice if we can not get hung up on the "recording quality", and instead just throw some paint at the wall and see what everyone comes up with.

that Curlie Joe Harper album was a blast to record. i got to play bass w one of my all time favorite drummers Tommy Wilson and it was all head charts in the studio!

Cool. I'm down for this. Any additional chord progressions? I tend to get into the ole box canyon without a third part.
Good chords so far. I use ALL of these extensively.
