I have a question, I guess.

So I have 3 passive P.A. speakers that run at 100 watts each. If I buy a 1000 watt power amplifier, will that hurt them or effect them?

100 watts for PA speakers is a very low power rating. The only way you'll hurt them is by turning up the voume on the amp! Note that how you wire everything together can affect the impedance (Ohms), so be careful - lower impedance load at the amp usually means an even higher power rating.

So, should i buy a lower watt power amp for them? Or just not turn up the volume so much with the 1000 power amp?

Are you going to want more power in the future? Are these 100 watt speakers really any good? Maybe you should consider dumping them and getting something more appropriate for your needs? (Which are .....?)

We're throwing a small concert in the desert and they are loud but only when supplied with power from a power amp.if needed, we can buy more speakers in the future. But for now, I just need to know if plugging these three 100 watt speakers into a 1000 watt power amplifier is going to hurt them.
