Hey everyone,
I'm currently a cover singer and was just wondering if anyone knows where I may be able to do gigs as a cover singer or even weddings? I don't gig much but I would like to but because I do covers I'm not sure if there would be gigs available.

Also, I would like to become a songwriter but I struggle a lot with creating melodies to my chords, anyone have any advice on song writing or even wanting to do a collab?

Any advice would be much appreciated :) :?

1. In America it would be much easier to find a cover band than an originals band....but I wish we were more like the UK in that regard. Still, every band does at least a few covers, right?

2. Why not try creating melodies and then find the chords? It might be a good idea for you to search for a creative songwriting guitarist or pianist to work with, and build a band from there. I'd start by going to music stores, open mic, any place where musicians might hang out....like burger stands after 2 AM

May you find your dream!

You're not going to get gigs as a "cover singer" - you need backing music (i.e. a band) too. Yes, you could bring backing music on your ipod or phone, but that's not much more than single-person karaoke, and very few people would pay for a performer doing that.
