Keith Richards once said the writer has a blank page, the painter, the blank canvas, and he as the musician has silence as his palette. Michelangelo said he saw the angel in the stone and set it free. I once heard a NASCAR sports announcer describe a race car as a sixteen valve wind instrument. In goes the good air out goes the bad. A Screamin’ Demon!!!

My wife tries to make some free time every weekend for me to jam with a buddy or two. She says I'm pretty much unbearable all week if I don't!

for the same reason, chimpanzees stick little tiny twigs into termite holes, it occupys the mind, and feeds the soul.. instead of the gut, as a chimpanzee would experience with their simple termite fishing tool of a twig..

Because I can.

The challenge of getting down complicated passages and training my fingers to do what is completely unnatural for them to do is an accomplishment for me. Such as playing a walking bass line on the E and A strings while playing the melody on the D,G,B,& E strings. That is an exercise in concentration that proves quite enjoyable after it has been accomplished.
In school I was told I could not play music because I was tone deaf. For that reason I was refused entry into the high school music class. Maybe I even do a little of it to show how inept public school teachers can be. Whatever, it works for me. Last but not least, man was created in the image of God, and God is the creator. :)
