Yep - what jimmy said. If you're paying people to play your songs, then they shouldn't object except on profoundly moral reasons (for example playing a song about pro-abortion and they're strick conservative Christians). On the other hand, lyrics with a lof of profanity can severely limit where the songs will play (broadcast radio and TV are still controlled by the FCC) and some venues (and even municipalties) have strict language rules.

Bob
I'm not into PC either. If you are anti PC you might enjoy the lyrics of this in your face song. I just stumbled across it while looking for some nigga rap just to show how hypocritical phony PC is applied to some but excuses others. Maybe that guitar player would like it.

The verses are actually rather slick and the chorus kicks booty if you're anti PC. I found it to be "in your PC face" funny.. I really generally hate rap but for some reason I like this one (without the music) :)

By the way, if everything goes as planned, CD goes on sale Sept 11 as a digital download on Tunecore (thanks Yod). I haven't decided which song(s) to sell as a single yet...Media "blitz" starts Sept. 4. I have no delusions of grandeur. Not in this world.

Way to go, Bob!

Singles are for pop singers. These days you just put out what you have and the audience decides what the "hit" is.

Bands are a compromise and not about the 1st amendment. Everyone must agree or the song is out. Otherwise the guitarist might bring in a new one for you to sing and since you forced him to do one against his wishes you must now sing this one with gusto:

It's a two way street and all about teamwork unless you pay them for their time.

You are quite correct - if you don't have the right mix of players it can be a punch in the throat.

While I'm not espousing this I know from my own experience that things often work best when one captain sails the ship. But its a foolish captain who doesn't listen to the crew.

In bands where I was captain, and several others, we chose new players unanimously or not at all. Band harmony (did I say that?) matters most.

cheers
