Posted: Mon Aug 17, 2015 2:12 pmYes, after getting kicked out of a couple of places because we were too loud the band finally got a clue. I hope you wear ear protection every time you get together, ear damage never heals.
Some bands will use a sound meter in the room to measure volume and aim for a specific target. Everyone needs to agree on the target and work towards meeting it.
For reference:
We are often about 103 db.
Rolling Stones concert is about 110db
Black Sabbath at their peak was 130 db. (Permanent hearing damage for everyone at the show)
