Our band Daze Of Nite is going into the studio to record a new demo on August 22. I am excited as we really need one that accurately represents the band and our sound. I will update you guys when it is done and post it here, for now I am super excited about this!

We are still discussing that. We are focusing on variety because we are a variety band and not out to prove our virtuosity allthough there is lots of room for that. We are focusing on creating a party atmosphere and keep the crowd dancing and engaged. This is the shortlist,
Mararitaville
Amy's Back In Austin
I'm Your Captain/Closer To Home
Have A Cigar
Pretty Woman
Pride And Joy
Shooting Star
Working For The Weekend
Disco Medley
Stars On The Water/Buffet version
You May Be Right
My Own Worst Enemy

We have a multi instrumentalist that covers all of those parts. He has a Nord Stage 2 That has the ultimate piano, Organ, Synth sounds. My friend Barry Plays Keys, rhythm acoustic, rhythm electric, harmonica, and sings!
The proper way for a cover band to do a demo for gigs is use 15-30 second pieces of each song and string them together. It is a bad idea to record complete songs. Club owners don't have time to listen to 20 minute demos. We will most likely take all those songs and make one song out of them that last 6 minutes tops.

so what tunes make up the "Disco Medley"?

i know some people hate anything and everything "disco" but there were some pretty happening tunes in that genre....Donna Summer, Kool & The Gang, Bros Johnson, Sister Sledge, Chic, etc.

Jimmy, keep in mind we are only recording snippets of each song about one minute and stringing them all together. We are not recording the entire song. We do play the songs in their entirety live. The same as the example I posted yesterday. The tracking of that was done in the base players studio and took two hours. the editing takes the time as they will be strung together.
