Damn, dude!

I was totally psyched because I FINALLY got some feedback on here, and unfortunately, since I'm a mere vocalist..and not a damn 'musician' as well, I was counted out.

Granted, I need some coaching in my vocals and what not.. I think that I'm not half damn bad..

Meh. Oh well, maybe next time.. *Le Sigh*

Don't be too discouraged Steff! Did someone give you a bad review? You have to be ready to take that. Being a musician is a long road. And yes, if you sing you are a musician. I just returned from doing an open mic at Boulders in Plymouth, do you ever do these? Good way to build up your stage presence and break in new material. Hit me at jimmydanger@qix.net. I'd like to hear what you do.

No, it wasn't a bad review or anything like that, it was just, because I DID NOT play guitar/any other instrument AND sing on top of that, he wasn't what I was looking for.

*Shrugs*

I'm pretty much over it. You know, I DID JUST start into this, but I've ALWAYS been a writer and I've ALWAYS had the passion... it's just finding someone willing to WORK with me that's what I need.

Well if you weren't what he was looking for and vice versa then you just saved yourself some time and aggravation. It generally takes quite a bit of time and effort to find other like-minded musicians to collaborate with.

You can make it in music as a vocalist/writer but it does help if you can play an instrument; this helps you in the song writing process and in being able to communicate your ideas to other musicians. Consider buying an inexpensive guitar and learning some chords.

As an aside, are you going to Warped next week?

I have a guitar, it's just finding some time to learn some things on it...

My mom plays guitar amazingly, but she's in L.A, and I'm all the way out here, but she's sending me some things to help me learn and what not, so it all works out, I guess. >D

Warped? Neh. Can't afford to go and do much of anything I'd like to do. lmfao. Looking for a J-O-B... and I'm a certified bartender, so that's my game plan these days.
