Cincy has a New Listening Room !
Ever wish you could go out to listen to live music...and actually hear it?

The DownTowne Listening Room in the Shillito Bldg at 7th & Race is in its first year of operation presenting touring artists and local emerging acts in a comfy, cozy and most importantly -- quiet -- place to play for an attentive audience. Not a noisy bar, club or restauarant. It's a great place to listen to live music.

But we need your support to keep this thing going. We do it as a non-profit operation monthly and it is a labor of love presenting these shows with a listening room vibe. Shows only cost a couple bucks and we offer free soft drinks, free snacks and more. Please check out our site and come visit us sometime.

Good listening rooms are hard to find. Back when I toured that region Cincinnati was a town where we never found a steady room to play despite being reasonably close to our base and having decent airplay in the area. Best of luck.

Very true - hard to find real 'listening' rooms. Many of the coffeehouses around here (not coffee shops!) offer this environment, but primarily for acoustic acts. Too many people want to go some place where they can drink, though.
