I read the whole thing before I listened. Already had some tunes on.
I was worried that the idea of giving him a conventional guitar would ruin his magic, but he seems like the type to adapt to anything. The song with new guitar sounded great.
Pro tip, don't film vertical and never film a guitarist without catching what they're doing on the fretboard. I couldn't tell if he was still in open tuning or learned chords. I've bought " professional" dvds of concert films that spotlight the guitarist's face and picking hand for the duration of every guitar solo.
