Ki, a new rock band out of San Diego used drones to capture arial views of San Diego for their new music video "By The Sea". Is the usage of drones a new standard for shooting music videos?

I imagine using drones is cheaper than helicopters for overhead shots.

However - are there places that will rent you a drone and operator? Or just a drone and hope you can fly it?

Or do you have to buy one?

I'm guessing that soon we'll be seeing a whole load of regs coming down - just too many drones in the air and I don't think they even file flight plans. Operators? Hmmmm Hold my beer!

Could get messy.
