the title pretty much says it, i don't exactly want to pay $12 just to send a message to one or two people, anyone know how to get around this?

Before you get too excited - when was the last time the person actually logged into BM - sometimes these profiles are dead 'orphans'. If they did not provide any info on how to contact them off of BM, or if they have no music on their profile, it may be a waste of time. You can google search for people, search on Facebook, reverbnation. Or pony up the $12 - it really isn't that much - two beers? If you can't afford that much, then music's the wrong game for you!

Yeah, I sure do. Just open a window, stick out your head and yell at the top of your lungs. You will most likely have more success than contacting musicians on Bandmix.

they made the profile and added music yesterday, so im hoping they put contact info soon, also its not the fact that $12 is alot of money its the fact of i just want to send a message to one person, and however you slice it i cant justify paying $12 to tell one person "hey, wanna play music with me?"

I had my email in my profile. The powers that be nixed it, probably after some whiny little bitch from this forum peeped it. Try the craigslist method: six-0-two, fuandyomama-DOT-com. Stuff like that. Also, go on craigslist and post an ad with that members name in the title, ie: Are you "emo boy 221223" from Bandmix? Then you can paste your profile to the cl ad. Good luck.

Looks like you figured out how to embed your email info ion your profile - but keep checking to make sure it's still there, they use bots to find and delete any they find. Suggestion: get some music in your profile - MP3s or linked videos. These days people want to 'pre-audition' prospective bandmates. I'd hate to tell you how much time I've wasted on people who
say they're experienced but
'don't have any music recorded/online' only to find they are nowhere near what I'm looking for.

Don't be a jerk - a good music partner is well worth $12. And if Bandmix can't make money of memberships, then ads will be all over the site.
The problem, as someone else stated, are all the orphans. I sent out almost 40 messages for people within 10 miles of me, and got maybe 5 responses back. Not sure that return is worth signing up for another quarterly payment.
this the most user unfriendly load of bad design and functio

Waste of time? I suppose it can be.
It's been over three days since I last played with the guys I met through Bandmix.
it ain't easy but what is?
