here is a video posted by my collaborator, of Dayne Nobody IV introducing a new tune for consideration to Bruce, and maybe worthy of being worked up for our live act..needs fleshed out, ..I wish Slacker was here to help by playing on it and adding that Slacker Magic Mojo, ..nothing in concrete... and it has no mind whatsoever! LOL!
wash, rinse, repeat for added filler..

Very nice Dayne! are you the long hair in full view or the hat playing the guitar?

guy in the camera is collaborator, I am greatful to find a musician like him that understands all aspects of music..we are going to try to meld our styles together, if it's a slow process, so be it, only thing showing where I am playing is the headstock of my B.C. Rich Mockingbird slightly wavering and jiggling as I play the tune..

thanks for the replies, the feedback is all appreciated.. overall, we will probably end up on the fusion/jazz genre with little things like this, thrown in, kinda like throwing in Précis by Jeff Skunk Baxter on the Doobie Bros. Stampede album, there is a term that goes with throwing in something musically to break up the flow but I can't recall what it's called "a refrain"?

[code]interlude was the word I was looking for, Project 2 will be used as an interlude between long forays of fusion jazz music.. LMFAO..

thank-you Mark, what's there, is pretty much "open source" needing somebody to write a mandolin part, bass line, fiddle part? ..

I think I listened to a Bob Weir solo album now and then at a friend's house and I did have a Grateful Dead 8-track long ago, the one with the Casey's High On Cocaine tune on it, listened to a lot more of Hot Tuna / Burgers and Phosphorescent Rat, addicted to Jorma's fingerstyle sounds..

Don't feel bad - I've tried it with a number of basses. Jack is just in his own place - the Airplane / Tuna were of the group of bands that had unique readily identifiable sounds.
Some where along the line I have a Guild bass for a while - shaped like a Les Paul. Played well, sounded good. But when Talbot goes broke anything can happen.

LOL. there's a recent interview w grace slick at the end of the "Fly Jefferson Airplane" DVD (highly recommended for any JA fans) and she's asked what was special about the group... w/o any hesitation she answers "Jack's bass playing".

damn, mike...i think you just might have gone thru more instruments than me! sounds like you're describing an M85 that you had . those vintage M85's are fetching some big bucks these days.

That looks like. Mine was nice dark red. I seem to recall two pickups but memory is hazy.
I've owned many instruments over the years I suppose - but only have two now. (P-Bass and Honer Bass-V). My personal economic situation has fluctuated greatly over the years but marriage really screwed my ability to score gear.
What's sort of strange is cannot remember what happened these instruments - there have been many over the years and I can usually remember where I got them but not what happened to them. That's with the exception of a Rick I got while overseas and had to leave behind. Can't find one these days unless you have golden fingers.

Dayne, I just listened to it again. I like your picking technique! The song kind of reminds me of Jimmy Page and perhaps something he would write today. Also you have a nice tone I really like! I don't know what's in the water there in Missouri but every musician I have met from there are very good, very organic for lack of a better word. Post more when time allows I'm a fan for sure!

thanks! Jeff, my collaborator is not the biggest fan of "lounge lizard" stylings, so I'm not sure you will be hearing much more stuff like Project 2, that I have written and performing on guitar, Project 2 might be a touch too "lounge lizard" like?.. Project 1 is Bruce's and I wish he had a part written out for me so he could just show me the notes, and then I would not have to work as hard coming up with something on the spot for Project 1.. Project 1 is pretty "busy" with just Bruce playing guitar, and I'm going nuts searching for the best phrases to flesh his tune out.. he has 40 more tunes , I might be able to scrape up 10 more of mine.. we need a bassist and a percussionist, I'd rather have a nice bass line completed first, then the "space" would be more confined....
