Q. What is the 1 thing (product/service) that a band needs?
Time, patience, luck. Talent would be good too (but oft times in today's world not required)

1. Buy powered speakers.
2. Don't buy powered mixers.
3. Wear two condoms in case one breaks.

We've been in lots of bands Bob - just pick one and run with it.

The hardest part I have found is simple. Finding band members who will dedicate the time and effort necessary to get somewhere. It's work, and it takes time and effort. I can't tell you how many people have come and gone from my band for one reason or another. Yeah, just keeping a band together and motivated has always been the hardest part of having a band, at least thats been my experience.

I can buy gear. I can make time to rehearse. I can rent a practice space. I can't however, find humans who give a crap about making music with me. I admit, it could be me.

and even if you get a GOOD bunch of musicians together, that can play just about anything on their instrument, you will eventually get the bickering caused by inflated egos, and justification they are more valuble than the guitarist or vocalist, and start trying to "take over" the band and trying to escape out of hauling/loading equipment, because they think they are such a vital cog in the wheel.. if you get a bunch that are tolerant it works, (like the Stones) and you can just bank on your marketing power and do a side project until the tension subsides.. but in most cases, the thing dissolves into nothing, and it's back to square one..that's when you say screw it, and retire from it for years, cause it's a pain in the butt..
