what would fit with this passage by my collaborator, ? I hear sliding octaves ala Wes Montgomery.. I think what is being played is the "lead" component and does not require 32nd note minor scale runs and such.. please come up with an idea for this?

Get him an amp!

Good bass line and solid drum beat, for a start.

Mike, he has two amps, a Roland Cube 60, and a Marshall combo amp with a tube)s .. he loved my VOX MINI3 cause you don't have to turn it up to 7 and blow your ear drums out to get good headroom.. people don't realize studios use under 15 watt amps all the time .. the Cube 60 was not broke the previous time we worked on music, but the on/off switch was broke yesterday..

a syncopated bass line then first.. good idea Mike.. and a drum track,
