I agree with you,It is the polite thing to do. But I also feel that if someone does not want to respond, they should not have to feel obligated to do so.

For some reason, it is very hard to say 'no' to someone who asks to jam or audition or whatever. They probably have reasons - maybe their style is different, maybe they aren't in your league and don't want to say that.

Rude? Yeah...but God love 'em.

Many times they may not be responding because they don't see the message - the BM notice goes into their spam folder, or to an email address they don't check.
But there ARE a lot of rude clueless people who just don't respond, too.
