***BandMix Forum Rules***
Rule #1: Respect your fellow members. All registered users must address fellow members with the utmost respect at all times. If you do not agree with a fellow member, be courteous in your response. Thomas Jefferson said it best: "When I hear another express an opinion which is not mine, I say to myself, he has a right to his opinion, as I to mine".
Because of the limitations of text based communication, the expression of intent can be tricky. One of the most common triggers of rule violations is the misinterpretation of intent behind a post. Use smilies often, and remember, it never hurts to begin a response with "In my opinion"...
If you do not address everyone on the board with respect, be prepared to be blocked from posting.

Yes it seems this "social media" thing has granted us immunity from common decency, aplomb, respect and common sense....the things many people blast out of their keyboards they would never say to someone's face ... either because they do not have the guts and the conviction of their own positions or they would be embarrassed to look like a fool with real humans around. In my opinion...is always a good statement to make but also just consider if you would actually say what you are going to type if the person was in front of you with other people around?????

Yep, but its so hard to not respond when someone starts spouting trollisms! Good to see that the BM admin has removed not only the messages that start the madness but also all the subsequent replies.

I try to imagine that I'm talking to my dad. He didn't mind disagreement....but if you didn't do it respectfully enough, you'd have trouble talking with your remaining teeth.

Its probably more about people not understanding who they're talking with, added to the difficulty of communicating with all fingers.
