No problems here. What do you mean that you 'can't post anything'? Is this a 'band' page? What error/message do you get?

Thanks, but no thanks. I don't really want or need Facebook friends whom I've never met in real life, don't live anywhere near me, etc. I appreciate the request, though.

I totally understand schmed, I just joined FB less than a month ago, and every friend with the exception of one, I have met in person, and all I have either played in bands with, or competed in battle of the bands events in Ft. Walton Beach or Santa Rosa Island.. I really joined FB for commercial purposes trying to get a network established that can help pull in dollars for me.. it is free to use..

I wish you good luck with that. I just joined, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I opened up the free local paper and I saw that I had missed one of my favorite bands, the day before. So I joined to follow bands. It's been great for that function, alone.
My problems with Facebook are that it's pretty much a fake world of fakers. Research backs this up. Everyone goes there to brag about themselves, basically putting up a wall around themselves that is not really who they are, or what their real life is like. This tends to make us feel bad about ourselves. We ask "why are their lives so great, and my life sucks so bad?". It's a vicious cycle. Stay out of that trap.
The other (bigger) problem is that your best interests are pitted against an evil corporation artificial intelligence, Facebook itself. If you want to keep away from Facebook's traps, you can start by not liking anything with a corporate name in the original post. For instance, I won't like a post from a professional sports team I follow, if it says something like Pepsi, papa John's, Honda, etc. The Facebook algorithms count that as a like for those entities. Whether you like them or not. Even if it's a negative post about them.
There are plenty of other things to watch out for, such as getting your privacy settings right.

somebody said they have seller's groups like craigslist on FB but I do not see the trust needed to actually do e-commerce there yet, maybe FB developers will engineer a better e-commerce app, when they do I will become more trusting.. but a "friend" has a good source of humorous banners/signs that I enjoy reading, ex.: a photo with a box full of kittens with a text on side of box stating, CRAZY CAT LADY STARTER KIT.. LOL.. I should have maybe grown out of humor like that..but,

They tend to be local groups, for example a New Hamphire Musical Instrument Swap/Sell group. I'm not aware of any e-commerce groups on FB.

Great pictures, yes. I wish I could post some on here, but I won't join those bucket photo things, so..... I joined a group dedicated to my favorite band, and just clicking on different member's profiles and seeing some great art and pictures. I steal some. Not in a creepy way (no family photos). Just remember that people can do that to you. Any photo you put on there had better be something you're willing to share with everyone on earth, for as long as computers and the cloud last. Or even longer.

I joined FB when I heard an album my band had done back in the seventies had become a collector's item and it was cool to hook back up with the boys.

I also keep with pals from the military but on the whole, I can't say I'm exactly sure how it works but if it works the way I think it does, I don't see much of interest. Hope I'm not missing a marketing opportunity!

There are plenty of opportunities. Ever create an event,? That's pretty cool. Especially compared to getting flyers made at the print shop, walking for miles, stapling flyers all over the place.
