Without Roger Waters, I have a hard time calling it Pink Floyd. At least they have SOME Rick Wright work included, - outtakes from The Division Bell, before he died.

That's the split, people either like the earlier Saucer Full of Secrets type Floyd with Barrett or the Wall era.
I am almost completely unfamiliar with the Barrett era unfortunately...and most definitely more familiar with the wall era.

The Wall era? How about Echoes, Dark Side, Crazy Diamond, Animals - era? The Wall is so heavily compressed, it sounds like you're listening to it on a TV from the 80s. The songwriting is all showtuney, the plot makes no sense. The rest of the 70s catalogue is some of the fattest, funkiest classic rock ever.

A combination of Panama Red and UmaGumma turned me off Floyd forever. It was certainly unseemly of me to jump out of my pal's living room window but I learned my lesson. No more Floyd!

I remember folks were saying , "Pink Floyd will flop without Roger Waters". Momentary Laps Of Reason and the Division Bell, proved them all wrong !!!!
I've been a fan since the early 1970's and always will be a fan !!!!
