I still haven't tried the flatwounds.
:-(

As an aside, do you have any experience motivating a "team"? In a project management sort of way?
I'm about ready to become very mean.

I have flat wound Fender strings on my P-Bass which I bought new over a year ago.

I've typically played RotoSound Round Wound lite gauge (or equiv) for ever and a day. Only bass I used flat wounds on (and occasionally nylon) was an Ampeg Violin Bass - a real sweety.

I'm still using the Flatwounds on the Fender Bass because they do sound pretty darn good and since I'm not gigging - they last a good while.

But when strings like these lose their gusto - they really and truly suck.
