That was really cool... especially since I wasn't familiar with any of them...
Kind of like Goat Rodeo... just a collection of really top players merging into something new.
Enjoyed that!
I did watched some Bela Fleck "Country" was kickin tune!

Oh yeah that DeFrancesco guy... badazz! Hell they all were.

Some great musicians!!!

I liked some bits of it, but overall it doesn't really work so well for my tastes.

Although oud is a popular instrument in many Mid - East ensembles, I prefer it best playing solo so that all of it's subtle shadings can be clearly heard.

This guy must be pretty good at the subtle shadings thing to get a gig like this one

yeah, I know what you're saying. for me there was too much unison playing and not enough counterpoint.

This guy must be pretty good at the subtle shadings thing to get a gig like this one

that guy's tone is ridiculous! over the entire instrument but I esp love the low tones he pulled out of that instrument. and some pretty good counterpoint from him too towards the end of that piece!

I think you are right Scott, in fact I doubt you could even get into a full size oud case, never-mind the case for that soprano oud!
