They're closing the only US maker of the venerable Ovation guitars. I'd always meant to pick up one of those. May have missed my chance.

did they not make the Adamas model? the guitar that Larry Coryell make sing like a bird?.. the little holes in the soundboard?..to this day, I have never seen an Adamas model..never come across one at a music store, pawn shop, garage sale or auction

I have an old Celebrity... I left it laying around the house in an open tuning for the kids to beat up... and they did. :?

Its also the location that built Guild guitars since Fender bought them out. Never met an Ovation I liked (recently), in the early-mid 80s, they were THE acoustic-electric.

Dane

I saw Larry Coryell live and I have to say, that cat could wail. Band too. Great gig, got to meet the band and just chat over beers. I didn't really know them as high enders - just assumed they were players in the grind, who happened to be really good!

IIRC that was not too long after his sort of breathtaking performance at Montreux.

It all rolls together in my mind sometimes.

thanks Mark for looking, I have it on a cassette somewhere, made a copy off a friend's vinyl when I lived in Orlando, but I no longer have a cassette player even if I could find it.. did you see the price somebody on the River was asking for it? did not look further into it, whether it was vinyl or a CD but it was 237 dollars I think.. a used one was 20 something dollars..
