:(
We had to have our dog put to sleep on Saturday. She was about 17 years old and was not doing well, was in some pain. Very hard decision which we almost put off again.

First pass at lyrics for a new song today:

Rainbow Bridge

The summer breeze was blowing
When I first saw you knowing
That it was surely meant to be
Through cool forest trails running
Or in the backyard sunning
You were always there with me

The years kept on going
I could tell you were slowing
But yet you always tried
Through a winter of snowing and raining
Never caught you once complaining
Now you're ready to cross to the other side
...of the Rainbow Bridge

Now my days are always wanting
Memories can be so haunting
Never knew how much I relied
On your unending loving
But now I've got nothing
Until I join you on the other side
...of the Rainbow Bridge

So sorry to hear about your dog! I know how close one can get to their dog because my best friend is my little buddy Trip!

Sorry to hear it Mike.

When I got home from the war my parents lied to me (out of kindness) and told me they'd given my dog Ludwig to a farm after they moved into a flat. Actually, he'd been hit by a car. I was very sad when I heard that.

Sorry to hear it mike... a tough decision but sounds like the right one.
Don't remember where I read this but it's one of my favorite quotes "I wish I was as good of a person as my dog believes me to be"

hang in there.

How could we have anything to say about lyrics that are so close to you?

So I'll just say... I'm sorry for your loss.

i feel your pain mike. have always had dogs since i was a pup myself. it's the hardest thing in life losing a dog. i'm a singer and i was singing real soft to your lyrics. i felt real sad and real happy. the two of you will meet again over the bridge.
