I am learning every Foghat tune off "Rock And Roll Outlaws",and "Energized" albums just because.. just because I love them and always have loved Foghat tunes, I have learned every tune of "Fool For The City" album years and years ago.. and I am having trouble with the lyric on the tune Trouble In My Way..all the lyrics websites say the word in the lyric is HATE, I think it is FATE, FACE, or FAITH, it's the 3rd verse starts as Give Me One More Chance, Give Me One More Chance, I'll Tell You Something You're Bound To ____

Dayne, Foghat is/was a great band with great songs. I especially liked "Take It Or Leave It" as I indicated in a previous post. Regarding song lyrics I remember listening over and over trying to figure out a word while writing them down before the internet. Now when looking at the lyrics online I see how wrong I was back in the day about some of those words. We all want to get the lyrics right. Having said that I don't think folks will notice if one word is wrong. IMO anyway?

The Foghat.com site uses "hate" for the word in question. It does fit well with the context around it, and the rhyming, but it's not the only word that "could" work.

It's "hate". Go with it brother. I was a monstrous Foghat fan back in 74ish.

I just love the way the slide guitar "scats" right in unison with the notes/melody of the lyric being sung.. I've got the slide down note for note..Foghat used to open for Johnny Winter back in the 1970's.. guess they could have named that "slide guitar kings" tour.. Rod Price vs. Johnny Winter
