Lyrics for Crime of the times

An Angry young man chants, the Eagle must die. He'd give his own child's life to dry his people's eye's.
He's a simple man, he lives his life for his God. He draws a line in the sand to wage holy way.

Etching evil thoughts into his mind, from ancient scriptures written into stone.
Waiting for the chance to prove his faith, God take this martyr home.
Etching evil thoughts into his mind, from ancient scriptures written into stone, Waiting for the day when he can die, and leave this world alone.

Out of the ashes, a vision from the past, the same carnal sins, just a different cast.
Rose to the top in a matter of years, shed so much blood, and too many tears.
A fortunate son in the new age Rome, he can't wait to sit on the Eagles throne.

Etching evil thoughts into his mind, from ancient scriptures written into stone.
Waiting for the chance to prove his faith, God take this martyr home.
Etching evil thoughts into his mind, from ancient scriptures written into stone.
Waiting for the day when he can die, and leave this world alone.

It's just a sign of the times, please forgive us for our crimes, their just the sign of the times, the social ladders that we must climb. We're just the crime of the times.

Old habits die hard, and the new world is aging much too fast. Though some things seem to have changed, most things remain the same, like private clubs, social ladders, and politics, tax breaks for the rich, vanity, and greed!

Thanks.

Good work bro.

I think you may have the Bush family confused with the Pat Robertsons of the world though.

Bush loves Muslims. The rich ones.

They both serve the same God:

Money.

I am new to this forum so this is the only way I have been able to reply. Thank you so much for the interaction, I did not mean you directly on any of my comments, I just feel like we have to wake up before it is too late, and believe me we are getting there!

Very good lyrics! My son is at Dover A.F.B. in Delaware & has served 3 tours across seas. Bush is not Reagen, But I believe in his commitment to the military. I dont want my family getting blowed up by some terrorist while shopping at wal Mart, etc. And I would hate to see all our brave troops that have died in Iraq, etc. To have died in vain. Im a conservative, Not a liberal. Thats why we have the choice to choose & express our beliefs. As far as my opinion, We should take Iraqs oil & 'Nuke' North Korea, Iran & anyone that refuses to abide to the protection of the world or a threat at sending a 'Nuke' to our country, etc. Still....I respect the opinions of the Liberals! Freedom has a price, & we have paid dearly through the years in past wars. [this is only a personal opinion & I dont care if others agree or not] I have the right to free speech. {Power to the USA & Bush} VB.

don't take any of the following personally... you ask for critique and I will give as honestly as I can w/o inhabitions...
personally I think the lyrics would have a bigger impact if you made people think they were listening to you rant about a muslim leader...
and then you'd reveal at the end that you are refering to bush...
it's a hair transparent - don't give it all away. let the reader guess a bit more.
What does the lyric really tell us about the character in focus? Again, I think you would do well to point out how extreme bush is if seen from another perspective and ultimately I think that is what you are going for... the prob is that all the ppul who read this who are "pro bush" won't be fooled into being persuaded that he is evil. They will tune out as soon as they catch wind. Save the mention of 'eagles' (except the very first one)untill the very end.
i do think you have some good things going with a few lines like "Waiting for the chance to prove his faith, God take this martyr home." - just needs a little development.
Again this is all IMO...

I thought about that actually, the song has a duality, you don't realize that Bush and the terrorist could be the same person, just like referring the first mans God to ours, and mentioning sand? that could be Arizona muslim martyrs, and the Eagles thrown could be desired by saudi's. I just like messin with people in my lyrics, Robert Plant said the same thing as you, don't exlain yourself totally, leave something to the imagination! There is not a bigger Zeppelin fan than me anywhere! Thanks for the words man. I can't seem to contact people directly on here, do you have to upgrade to another plan to do that? If you don't mind send me an email, forgive my novice, but I just joined and you seem pretty cool, so I thought I would ask.

yes sir, you do have to upgrade to contact others directly.
"the song has a duality" - I thought you might be going for that...
but I still got the idea that it was about bush right away... perhaps if you changed your screen name to mohammed or akdar or something it would lead people in the other direction more(1/2jk).
love me some zep too... even if page is sloppy.
I love the band for jpj and jb, the most... and if you ask me that's what coverdale/page was missing... and sm with "tall cool one".
although I absolutely love "ship of fools".

AFA pretty cool... I'm sure there are many who would dissagree based on my need to stick in my nose and my desire to challenge everything... but thank you anyway.
