To be honest...

If bandmix and any volunteer moderators would have been smart about it, they would have created side accounts with different names. No psychological twists and turns need have been negotiated.

In other words there wouldn't be any weird feelings if there were, in essence, anonymous mods, vs. the peers of regular posters.

You might think there's no value in that, but I think it gives some people a generic 'man' that they can bash, yell at, or whine about.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I agree ... there has always been an anonymous BMIX account acting as moderator up until the role was assigned to a couple of "regulars".

If this change had been unannounced and the new accounts were Mike at an account called BMIX1 and George at BMIX2, nobody would know the difference. Except maybe for a quicker response time to spam posts.

I would have recommended giving the accounts foreign names like Ramashankar Harivishnu and Hussein Akbar Ali, so the assumption would have been that the task has been outsourced to some guys in India and Pakistan.

Very good point gz, but I disagree. If anonymous they would not be held accountable for the actions by us peers. There should be no weird feelings about it. Jealousy? (not on your part gz) it seems to me that could be the issue with some on here?

Yeah it can make it tricky to deal with for some people, Haley.

HHMMMM. I seem to be seeing some extremely rational thought. As a way of compromise, it sounds like a very good idea. However bandmix always had that censorship capabilities at their fingertips.

First of all everyone should put this "JEALOUSY"aside. Thats nonsense. Second of all everyone should focus on the rational reason for George and Mike and bandmix to install a mechanism of this nature... When it already existed. It exists because most of us step back and realize when when we are stepping over the line. IT IS VERY EASY TO DO WHEN, you are just sitting in front of a computer.

GT, KUDOS to you. That was a very intelligent, well, thought out idea.

Would your feelings really be different if you had BandMix1 and Bandmix2 as moderators with it still being me and George doing the same thing? From your 'anti-censoring comments, I doubt it.
The site administrators do not look at these forums at all unless someone reports a post or person posting.

I personally don't relish the idea of being called a BM . . .

Just saying.
