I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician (could also be Telus) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.

Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number. I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons. DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE...

I hope this alerts anyone to this scam. Who would have thunk it?

thanks for sharing

Glenny I know you in business. A few monthes ago I recieved an email that said my company had a complaint filed against it thru the Better Business Bureau. When I opened the link to the file my computor got corrupted. I took it to an IT guy. Sadly this computor had a bunch of pictures on it, and we couldnt recover them. When I contacted the better business bureau they said they dont send complaints that way. So be careful if you get something like this thru your email, basically they asked for $300 dollars and they would provide a password that would allow access.

I have had emails concerning the judgment of my case by the Nevada court system with an appeal request form. I have no idea what that was..... deleted

I had a notification of a bill for $525 from the utility company. Information can be found at their new on line billing service. I was requested to go to the page and input my data. .... Deleted.

I have had urgent gov requests to go to such and such site to clear up any problems .... deleted

These scamming / phishing assholes are going into high gear these days. All of this crap was within one week. That's the most email I have had for months.. all scams.

I've had a ton of those 'court case' spam emails recently, yahoo and aol spam filters work pretty well in putting them right into the junk folder.

UNBELIEVABLE That anyone could harbor this sort of malice.

I love the ones from BOTSWANAVILLE. All I have to do is click on a certain link and authorize the payment for shipping of legal documents to transfer 10 million dollars...

NO. We are going back down into the teens and below. It did warm up Sunday but that was a blessing and a curse. I have a farmhouse with a mile long driveway. I had to get in and get out because if it snows and ices up one section dumps down a 50 foot drop. Let's just say I had a window today...

I still ended up having snow on one side pushing a 30000 pound truck into inches of some rather big trees that line that drive, and had the rear tires in mud up to the rims at one point. Mind you heavy rescue would have turned into a couple thousand dollar bill.

On the good side... Yesterday was in the high 40s. I went to the range with my son in law. I only brought RE-LOADS. We went through 90 rounds of 30/06. I don't think I will ever BUY another Factory round. I just got into reloading and a few little rounds later... Lets say I was impressed with the accuracy of my reloading efforts. I know you shoot, just a thought.

Have a good day friend.

I don't get to shoot as often as I would like. There is an outdoor range about 5 miles away. Lately it has been all about music. Playing in two bands again.

Jeff I have been reading your posts. I think it's GREAT that you have those opportunities... Or maybe I should say those bands are lucky to have the opportunity to play with a great player like you. SMILE!

Thanks Glen, I am having to woodshed learn these days. The situation with your truck maneuvering in and out of the drive sounds like a real nail biter! Hopefully spring will come your way soon. It is already here it was in the mid 80's last week. I fear the last cold front is the one arriving tonight. We will get all the way down to the upper 50's!

MID 80s... Heck when it gets to 40, we are talking BEACH WEATHER. The water is just as cold, but... If the ladies understand the natural response of shrinkage... Who cares.

MID 80s huh. That would be nice for a day or two, but after that it would be please,... CRANK UP THE DAMN AC. : :)

Going down to 13 tonight. Still a spring breeze. Winter is almost over and I can get a day in without waiting for the next shoe, to drop.

Hey, have fun playing with those bands Jeff. COOOOOLLLL!

I was just outside with the dogs and I got bitten by a mosquito!

Seriously though, when it comes to cold weather we are the biggest wussies in the country! In the last 25 years I think it has gotten down to 18 degrees here in H-town about 4 times! Now when it comes down to hot well.....uh no we don't know anything about that either. Humidity Yeah that's the ticket!
