Good tune - question on the recording, though: were the instruments recorded 'live' to a recorder? About 14 seconds in, when the drums kick in, there is a serious compression happening on the initial rhythm guitar.
The drums - specially cymbals - are a bit too prominent in the mix and have a lot of 'room' on them, which is the second thing that made me think this was recorded 'live'.
Sound-wise, I'd dial back the distortion on the rhythm guitar, and try to get a bit more bite from the sound of the lead guitar.

The recording is 'off the board' however we have as of yet not isolated our drum mic's. ( cymbals from overheads )
Also my amp was in the room with us as well so there is considerable bleed.
And not having it 'cranked' would likely be the reason it has taken a small bite . . . LOL
Working on acquiring the appropriate equipment so that we can utilize the headphone mixer I purchased and installed in our rack.
At that point we should be able to utilize the full insert position of the recording snake and get some of the 'room' out of the mix.
Thanks for the input.
As always, we will review, and hopefully improve our recording process with your critique in mind.

Makes sense on the recording.

When recording electric guitars with distortion (rhythm guitar in particular) its usually better to turn the distortion down a bit more than you would like for the 'live sound'. Some moveable gobos to isolate mics will help.

The distortion and pups reminds me of the band Bush.
The song itself works. I'd bring the BG vox up more in the mix near the end.

Thanks for the listen and input my friend.
We're cutting a demo EP.
There is a nationally signed artist whom is familiar with us.
He's going to carry our EP to
The Man for a listen.
Exciting times, even if nothing concrete comes of it.
Exciting times
indeed.

points on the song. i hear a definite U2 vibe ...the chord roots being played in 1/8 notes on bass for instance.
the recording has some issues (as mentioned above). strictly as a matter of personal taste i'd like to hear a little vibrato on the lead guitar part. and there are a couple of spots where the intonation on the vocals are a bit rough.

Thank you for your input. It is truly appreciated that you take the time to listen and comment.
We discovered two issues that should have not been but due to some negligence were.
One of our overheads was set with entirely too much gain, and was creating room noise.
Also I believe I neglected to mute the playback channels on the board.
