Hey guys. New here, or maybe signed up years ago and just disappeared. Anyhow, would've posted this in the recording section but it looks real dead in there.

I'm looking for something simple, just a device where I can record an acoustic guitar track and overdub the vocals. Does a modern digital recorder have that capability or should I be looking somewhere else? If so, any decent, relatively cheap options? Thanks.

Zoom H4n

If you need cheaper, the older H4 model sells used for much less, and will still do what you are asking. The H4n is an improved version that is easier to use.

Cheaper still, if you already have an iphone, there is a 4 track recording app.

I use this to record band practice but it and other brands/models like it have 2 and 4 track recording capabilities.
Easy to use.

lol that is the one I was just looking at on musicians friend. I figured digitals in this day and age are well capable, just wanted a reference before looking to buy. Thanks Vinny!

The Zoom's work good, traded min off shortly after purchase.

Consider where and what you will be doing in 24 months, not today . . . spend your hard earned money wisely.
