Thanks! That tom holder was on their 60's "Rock&Roll" model drum set.
Strange Gretsch logic offered that kit with two 12" toms and a 16" floor tom while the rest of the rest of the world went with 12", 13", 16" for 5pc sets.
Was it refinished? In the picture it looks like a solid turquoise lacquer not available back in the day, but maybe that is just the lighting.

here's what monte had to say on it....
Yes, I refinished them, on the baby blue shade, or tried to. They're probably early 60's , round badge and they had gold satin swirl wrap.
The 16" still has wrap but other's wrap was in awful shape. And I have the wonderful chrome over brass shell snare! U right on sizes...2--12" 16" an 20" kick 5 1/2x14. Used to have Great blue satin swirl...same era set. Sold em.. kick myself!

Too bad about the wraps, but at least they still have "That Great Gretsch Sound" of those Jasper shells and die-cast hoops.

oh, thanks guy. The real irony is that the same guy signed me to his label 4 years later, when I was even older. LOL

lynard...if you can hang w us musically, none of us could give a flying leap about beards, long hair, or piss stains on your britches. we drink, we curse, laugh our asses off, and we have a blast playing and being spontaneous w one another. we don't even let politics get in the way.
if you're ever in the area you're welcome to sit in.
and dude... i'll let ya in on a secret, i'm 57 going on 18. life is good!
