Lady Gaga is calling herself "Queen Of Pop!" I call her "Queen of irrelevancy."

At least Elton John is musically relevant.

Relevance is entirely relative.

I find them both to be utterly irrelevant to my interests.

But that is just my personal, subjective, opinion.

If we were to equate objectivity with popular consensus ... then overall, to the prevalent pop culture, both of them are, far and away, more relevant than you, or I, will likely ever be.

I was listening to Classic Rewind on XM radio the other day. The DJ was talking about Elton John and an interview with him where he said he realizes he is not relevant anymore and how he is finally in a place in his career where he can write and record music for himself and not worry about pleasing the masses!

Relevant? Sure am. To my dog and me. Well maybe 4 if I can include the guy with the dog in the mirror.
