Although I have never seen one I have been fascinated by this phenomenon all of my life. Friday night at our house is Ancient Aliens and pizza night! I am watching The UFO Files and wondering if any of you have ever seen a UFO?

Yes I have. And my best friend has too. They visit us often.

Bob it seems I remember you posting a thread on this some years back. What kind of encounter have you had if you don't mind me asking? Would you mind elaborating?

I was sitting on a lounge chair looking straight up when instantaneously a dazzling rotating disc, silvery, mirror-like appeared out of nowhere. It hovered motionless and clouds passed underneath it. It was like a mirror, just spinning. Probably ten minutes elapsed then poof, it was gone. Amazing.

Awesome Bob! I have heard of sightings similar to yours. Some have described them almost like mercury or molten metal. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome. I have a theory that Bigfeet are aliens that beam down and gather food, and then beam back up.

Stephan Hawking warned humanity NOT to try and communicate with aliens. He knows we're too primitive , barbaric and violent and that beings capable of interstellar travel could squash us like bugs.

Do I consider the possibility of not being able to identify an object in flight.
Yes.
Do I consider there may be "beings" on other planets.
No
Nor do I consider it to be at all relevant to my life if there were.
I also consider Steven Hawking to be a Godless buffoon.
Intelligence, unfortunately, oft creates a toxic environment where wisdom cannot flourish.

What it was I have no idea, but something a couple of miles away and well lit while in the Bermuda Triangle no less, (navy ship) zipped across the sky at least 30 miles toward the left, then twice that far to the right, then at a steep angle upwards and out of sight...all in less than 3 seconds...nothing man made can do that. Or stop, turn around and go the other direction, much less that fast. Don't know what it was, I was just out looking around at the stars...zillions of them out there 300 miles from land at night...it's like nothing I've ever seen...I went out and looked every night while at sea. Amazing...but that was the only time I saw anything like that.
4 or 5 years ago looking around the sky trying to decide where to point my telescope next, something in the vicinity of the Orion constellation but in our atmosphere blinked 3 times and was not seen again. No tower lights there, no planes in the sky, no movement...and no I had not ingested anything interesting either time...
As far as intelligent life goes, I think it's a mathematical impossibility that life elsewhere cannot exist. Billions of galaxies, with billions of stars in each and our little backwoods planet here in the Milky Way is the only one with any sort of life? Sorry but I cannot believe that. I would not be surprised to find that life exists elsewhere in this galaxy.
Many ancient cultures have left behind lots of distinct clues that they not only saw but had in person contact with beings not of this planet. Carved into the rocks of Mayan architecture, Greek, Chinese, Native American and basically everywhere else in the world are depictions of bipedal beings that can only be described as wearing helmets that strongly resemble what our astronauts wear. Rock carvings that can only be interpreted as flying mechanical vehicles. A toy found in South America thousands of years old that is a definite replica of a type of airplane. A copy was built, scaled up to about a 2 foot wingspan, electric motor installed and it flew perfect.
Then there's Roswell...1st news reports stated specifically that a Unidentified Flying Object had crashed. Next day the government insisted it was a weather balloon...can you say cover up?
Many ancient cultures, including the Hopi, have ancient legends that claim they originated from "star people". Sanskrit tablets have been found that say the same thing. More of them than I can remember off hand...
I've seen too much to deny it, I've read too many books, I will never believe we humans are the only life in the universe, much less intelligent life...With billions of galaxies out there, it's virtually mathematically impossible that life hasn't developed elsewhere.
And for those of you who hold strong religious beliefs, show me where in the Bible it says we were the ONLY ones created...or any other religious book for that matter. Intelligent life elsewhere does not conflict with anything the Bible says, because it does not say we are the only intelligent life in existence. Just on this planet. Even the Vatican announced a couple of years back that they were using their observatory to search for signs of life elsewhere. Implying that extraterrestrial life would not conflict with their religion.

If you think that every little speck of light is a star with some planets around them, it's mathematical surety that there's some life out there.
The worse equation is when a more advanced form of life comes to town.
As in they generally take over, one way or another.
You don't get any props until you can master intergalactic flights.
Until then, we are no more than smart apes in a little zoo to the aliens of the universe. They test our livestock, they test on us, they do whatever they want to the animals in the zoo.
We'd probably be better off as pets, so grow your hair and paint it pink.. lol
The wrong things come to town and we'll be lucky if they don't think we're what's for dinner tonight.

Nope, I don't think every speck of light is a star with planets, not even close. Many are, and a fair percentage of them may have planets in the "life friendly" zone where temperatures would allow for liquid water. My opinion is that not many are capable of supporting life, but with all the billions of stars and galaxies out there, I'll never believe this is the only planet with life on it.

I'd tend to agree with the mathematical proposition, if I believed that human existence was an accident.
Which of course . . . I do not.
Everything in our universe point to "intelligent design".
( never cared for that term, because our creator is perfect, not "intelligent" ,but it is what it is )
To deny the possibility that other forms of life were created would be foolish from my point of view. For both Angels & Demons exist, so why not "other worldly beings".
I know this may sound like it contrast with my previous statement.
To clarify:
Do I believe there are "other worldly beings"?
No
Would I limit the power of our Creator in saying emphatically that they could not exist?
Most certainly not.

George, I have also experienced the Holy Ghost and people don't believe it. If YOU ever experience something like I did it would change your perspective. It is impossible for me to believe that in a universe as big as ours that we are the only intelligent beings, whether one believes in creation or evolution. It is also quite logical, despite Hawking being a buffoon or not, that intelligent beings who can travel the universe by definition are WAY more advanced than us. Thousands of people, including highly religious people such as yourself, have seen things that cannot be explained in any science or religious book. Just be open-minded in case you ever run into an alien or alien craft.
