Paul, I'm a great cook. I'll make you some beens over a hot fire in the snow. We'll get a few friends over and you'll be the entertainment. If you don't mind I'll bring along an old Celtic drum. Great stuff man.
Cheers - Chippy

We always enjoy your stuff, Paul.

I don't like your cigar box guitar, but it sounds pretty good regardless.

Keep on, keeping on..

Pretty cool. Not my style of stuff, but kind of reminds me of the first song I learned to play at age 5, Little Brown Jug. Good job. Guitar sounds pretty good.

I happen to like the cigar box guitar, especially the one used in "I Gots To Know". By the way I've showed that video to lots of people, especially musicians, most of them have liked it. (I saved it off youtube long ago...)

You know Paul, that was pretty interesting to read and check out the pics.

Thanks.

Thanks man. :) It's intimidating. I will not be satisfied unless it plays perfectly.

Is the C-G-C-E type tuning usual for cigar box guitars? (or Eb so you can do minors easily?) Similar to a uke tuning, always makes my brain hurt to 'translate' on the fly!

Why is the I Gots To Know CBG harder to play?

No it's not usual. I've heard of 3 other folks playing that tuning.

The reason that first CBG is hard to play is that
1. It's fretless
2. The neck flexes
3. It has a piezo pickup so you can't get a good tone or much volume.

Fretless probably wouldn't bother me much, I've played fretless upright bass. Takes a little practice, but not hard to get accustomed to. Springy neck would suck...no way to tighten it a little?

I have to disagree on the sound, the I Gots to Know clip sounds good to me, I'd love to get my hands on an old Tele Star amp like that one...almost as good as my Champ...
