My friend.
The issue is not that some cannot "get over it" or not.
Rather an experienced musician and veteran of this service offering some suggestion on how you can make your appeal for musicians more "appealing" if you will.
Perhaps it was not offered in the kindest of fashion, but his critique is accurate.
I have been here for years, and having built our Christian band via this service, I would like to add.
Best results are accomplished by following a few steps.
First and foremost is to fill out your profile page a fully as possible.
Some audio and video is really important as many of the musicians whom view profiles will not even take into consideration a profile that has no samples. Their thinking is that samples are evidence of that commitment you seek. I note that you have video on Facebook. A good move, placing them here as well can be very helpful.
It is also a good idea to "hide" some contact information on your profile & posts as well like THISMIGHTBEMEDOTCOM .
If it is too obvious, the Moderators will likely delete your post altogether.
There have been a few examples of arrangements being made via the Forum. However the "search function" is another useful tool as you can narrow your search parameters to your geographical region.
It does require that one is a paid member in order to contact others via the search function. As well it may take months of daily searching, and the send response ratio runs approximately 20:1, and can be quite frustrating. Two of our present line up were located in this fashion. And we have been together for about seven years.
I have to say as well, that be it right, wrong, or indifferent there are many ( like myself ) whom will not consider contact or reply to messaging in text-ese.
A lack of attempted correct spelling ( I have to use the spell checker as my phonics are poor ) capitalization, and the lack of appropriate punctuation, may be construed as of a lack of dedication / professionalism as well.
I'm a loose fit kind of guy in the "real world" but the simple fact is a professional approach will greatly enhance your ability to obtain musicians for your project. And opportunities to perform latter on as well.
Best wishes

You get as good as you give. If you want someone who is semi-illiterate, has no experience, etc, then advertise that way.
It's no different than any job interview - show your best side. By the way, look up the word 'apostrophe'.
Good luck in your search.
