We finally finished tracking on the new songs last night. Both Rasta and I laid down some good vocals that were just what the songs needed. We've come a long way from the days of "good enough" to "let's see if we can do it better". I'll try to post the raw tracks later; we mix next Wednesday. Also, it looks like a least one of the tracks will be used in the new movie "The Route".

Excellent! How'd you get movie placement even before the song is finished?

He's a local filmmaker and a friend of Rasta's. They shot a scene at Rasta's house and Rasta got one line (his character's name is Mitchell). He then asked Rasta if he had any songs that he thought would fit in the movie, and we decided to write one for it. We sent him an MP3 of an early version and he's already using it as a placeholder until we get the track mixed and mastered. Jimmy Im headed north this weekend to Chicago, to go to the Nascar Race and also see that play, The Book Of Mormons, why am I going to that play, hell I dont know, she bought em, so I guess Im the bitch this weekend, gotta make sure my hair and nails are all in order!

OK Johnny I posted the new tracks for you. They aren't mixed or mastered so you'll have to really crank them up. My favorite is "Cover My Eyes".

Hey thanks J & J! We have four songs recorded; we also recorded a cover of Cream's "Politician" but we're not going to include it. I just wrote a new song, it's a ballad called "Why Is Love A Hurting Thing" that I'm hoping we can quickly record and include. Brion (the filmmaker) might be interested in "Out Of Time" as well as "The Route" so I'm really excited.
