Hello All...

First, let me say that I am new and if this is not where I am suppose to post something like this, please let me know and I will not do it again...thanks...

The reason for this post is...I'd like a little information to make sure I am on the right path. I am the DOS at Holiday Inn Harrisonburg and we are looking to have a New Years Eve event (and possibly a Halloween event) and we are looking for a band to play at this/these event(s)...so I just need to know if I'm in the right place to find a band to do this?

If yes, how much info can I post about the event on this thread or do I need to create an event someplace on this site?

Thanks for any and all help! Brenda

Brenda

Best results will be from a shotgun approach.
Bandmix is but one tool.

That said if it were I, would start a specific thread searching for bands.
And I would likely become a "premier" member so that I could utilize the search function as well.

Note that in most areas of the country, bands are already booking into 2014 (if they are popular). You would do well to search the live music listings in your general area for bands playing the type of music you are looking for, then when you find any, searching out their contact info.

We must have obtained a small degree of popularity then.
I'm sure it won't last if the present trend of distractions continues unabated.

You can also contact booking agents in your area. Do a google search for entertainers in your city. Some of the companies that book bands are musicians too. When they book bands they typically get 15%. If they send a band to your event and charge $1000.00 the band gets $850.00.

And New years Eve is the costliest night of the year for booking bands!
