Our band Mission Imposter Just played the Pleasure Pier in Galveston and I am Pumped! That was one of the best if not the best gig I have played in a LONG time! Damn we are tight. We haven't played together in 5 weeks, we haven't rehearsed in 7 months. We are to the point where everyone knows what they have to do and gets it done. We talked about adding "Jessie's Girl" "Working For The Weekend" and "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nothin" Keep in mind we are a Variety Rock and Roll band. I saw very impressed people in the audience tonight! This is a really cool gig and pays very well the staff couldn't say enough good things about us. I don't have any video or pics so you'll just have to take my word for it! :D This pier is where the old Flagship Hotel was It goes out over the Gulf. Landry's Rest. chain bought the severely damaged Flagship for 500K after Hurricane Ike and Tilman Fertitta Has done so much for the area economically and treats Musicians VERY well! He developed that old hotel into a really nice family friendly entertainment resource! Tonight the stars aligned as the teenagers had a blowout because of the end of summer and school starting they danced the night away!

On another note I am planning on getting one of those Zoom video recorders so I can record the band and get good audio as well. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that hotel is where "The Balinese" was. (ZZ Top)

So "it was down at the Balinese"

Good on ya

Ted, the Balinese was 2 blocks away toward East Beach! They were very close in proximity but not the same thing. The third song we played was "The Balinese". Friends threw a party for me on my 40th birthday (14 years ago) we rented rooms at the Flagship Hotel where the Pleasure pier is now and that still stands as the worst hangover I ever had!

AH the FLAGSHIP . . . many a drunken spring vacation at the FLAGSHIP.

One year one of our party got arrested for murder at the FLAGSHIP.

He of course had nothing to do with it, just drove a similar vehicle.

Talk about a buzz kill.
