SyFy channel, in its inevitable downward spiral since being purchased by the NBC/MS conglomerate, features a movie (tonight?) called Sharknado!
Read the mostly tongue-in-cheek interview with the writer here:

They had another one a few weeks ago called "Ice Tornado". Apparently a regular twister is not scary enough for sci-fi channel. Kind of an insult to all those folks who were wiped out by tornadoes this spring. Here's an idea: hire some real writers and develop some original sci-fi.

Funny stuff. I heard that the ratings went through the roof with Sharknado.

I wasted a lot of time hoping SciFi would eventually show a decent movie. They tricked me by showing one, just one, early on: Dog Soldiers. A lovely werewolf film - sort of Rourke's Drift with monsters instead of Zulus. Great acting.

Since then nothing. nada...

One of the reasons I tossed my TV.

DOG SOLIDERS was a good movie..

They should have bugged out though.
I still don't know why they bivouacked in that little ville.
(but I knew that was a big no no)

They were looking for refuge - missed the boat. I gave it nine points on the military depiction - the only problem with that was that most of them seemed to be about two ranks shy of what men that age and competence would be.

Certainly rocked. The guy fighting a werewolf with a frying pan was certainly one of the classics! The monster was thinking, "Damn - I'm supposed to be the aggressor?!"

The chick was cute. For a while...

And every time I see one of those silly looking little cars I think (switching to English accent) "Cooper!"

Ah you could tell that little hut of a house was going to get overrun.

They should have just "forced marched" the f**k out of there.

And left a shitload of AP mines on their trail behind them.

They'd had a better chance moving, than to stay there..
