way kewl, Jimmy. Mazal Tov!

:D

That a heavy one? Close up of the wood reminded me of my old Melody Maker, which was light as a feather but screamed with a DiMarzio distortion pickup.

No this guitar is light as a feather! Ultra thin body, as opposed to the Les Paul I traded for it. The color is slightly more red than my Les Paul Special.

How's the balance when strapped on? I've noticed that that SGs tend to be neck heavy due to the light body.
Nice axe, but not crazy about the color of the case 'fur'!

All Gibson cases came like that from that period, my 2000 Les Paul case was almost identical. This case has a sticker that says made in Canada.

I plan to use this guitar for special tunings, my Strat and LP still do the heavy lifting.

That thing is in better condition than mine. How'd that get accomplished?

Very nice SG! It will grow on you.

A doctor bought it and never played it. In fact the plastic was still on the pick guard. I guess he collected 15 great guitars with the intention of learning someday and never did.

Wow! That's a great looking guitar! I have always liked the SG look and sound. Send us a live sound recording (or vid) when you have it!

Very sweet guitar - just damn! The SG stands out with a few other guitars like LP, Strat and Tele, as one of the big ones. You can't go wrong with any of them. And SG has a very classic sort of look as if artists designed it.

And I like pink case interiors. 8)

Thanks fellers. I played it at rehearsal last night; plays great but I notice that my guitars with EMGs sound a lot louder than the SG at the same volume. Yeah I could just turn the amp up but I would love to buy a guitar someday that already has hot pickups stock.

I hear ya Jimmy.

Ive got an old LP with p-90s in it, and there is a big volume difference in it and my other lps, even my strat doesnt have the volume of my lps.

I guess thats why I always mainly use my two LP Classics, they have the same pickups and I dont have to noodle with the guitar amp to change guitars, you might look into some sort of booster for the SG unless you are going to change the pups out on it.
