Perhaps you think it should have been moved to July 1 so it was on a Monday and you'd get a long weekend?

We are far enough removed from the original event that it could very well be a "floating holiday" say, 1st Saturday of July.

I think for myself I would prefer it. Much greater opportunity to celebrate.
Especially from a musicians stand point.

Agreed, and done!

OK, and let's move Christmas to the first Monday in May (Jesus was born in the spring). Besides, I'm getting Thursday off with pay, if it was moved to the first Saturday in July I would lose that.

Works for me . . . I worship Jesus . . . not images, dates, nor idols.

I took Wednesday and Friday off, so have a 5-day weekend coming up! Camping at Lime Rock Park 3 nights for the American LeMans Series sportscar race!

My wife has a four day weekend as well.
She is contract labor however, so there is no pay involved.

A very good time to celebrate our constitution, for it may well be the last time before it is a constitution in name only, as it has already begun to be under legislative tyrants, crooked judges, a lawless administration, and a debase media.

Hell every day is the 4th of July to me.I celebrate freedom everyday and my days off from work for the 4th is everyday now that's a long weekend.The only problem I have is that the fireworks don't go off as much as they used to.Happy 4th to all.
