I want to upload some of the songs we recently recorded. Is it okay (safe) to upload covers and/or originals? Either way I'm not selling any of the stuff we've recorded, at this point they're just for demonstration purposes. Looking forward to your response...later...fisherman bob

Hey, Bob.
I've always enjoyed your views on this site.
Yeah, go for it - what the heck. None of us are getting any younger - you might as well get your songs heard, huh?
If you want to go w/ the 'official' copyright route, there's about a five month delay . . .
I'd like to hear your stuff, though.
OK, be well.
Alan
Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply. I'll be doing some more studio work within the next few weeks and get some of this stuff on this site for you to hear. They're playing it on the radio here in Kansas City apparently. Later this year we're coming out with a full-blown CD, it's going to be a fun year. Bob, How about just jacking into your 'puter and playing something off the top of your head?

I had a couple covers on Myspace for several months until reps for Nirvana finally asked that I remove my version of "Polly." Now I try to keep my uploaded music predominately limited to originals, but I'll still toss in an occasional cover if I feel so inclined.
Thanks for all the advice...

I've been "jacking" for over 25 years with real pro musicians. I have to have real professional musicians accompany me. If I ever have to "jack" into a computer I'll go be a greeter at Wal-Mart instead. When you hear my CD hopefully you'll understand. We're going to be getting legal permission to record some old blues songs hopefully soon, as well as copywriting all of our originals (I've been playing them out for years and years). As soon as we get the legal stuff out of the way I'll start loading these songs on various websites. Apparently they've been playing us on one of the local blues stations, haven't heard any but have been told by a few people they heard them. The DJ's were very impressed. A guy that owns almost all the juke boxes in town wants me to give him a couple hundred of our new CD's to put on all the jukeboxes. Might be a good way to get into some of the local bars, kind of like "guerilla" marketing of the band. I really appreciate all your input. One of the reasons I signed up for Bandmix for another year is the expertise of the people who post on this forum. It also looks like there's a few new bar/restaurants opening up as blues venues on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro area. For many years all the blues joints were on the Missouri side, the Kansas side was a blues wasteland. Things are starting to happen positive for us. Looking very much forward to this next couple of years. Later...your friendly neighborhood bluesman fisherman bob
