Why yes . . . thank you !

Eric is schooling me in guitar theory as he writes or re writes tunes for an acoustic duo project. We are meeting twice a week for about three hours a session.
He has so many years of experience and formal education to back it up.
He also has the patience and joy of music that allows him to "teach" me by demonstration as well as writing scores he knows full well I could not play at my current skill level.

He said that his goal was for he and I to be able to go out busking locally for the pure joy of making music.

I'm not one of those guys whom can sit down and just memorize a gillion different chordings without some application.
I cannot believe my fortune.

I am truly a blessed man.

That's great George! It's good to have a mentor to teach you things that would take too long to learn on your own. But instead of busking as a goal play some coffee houses or open for some musically similar acts. Acoustic builds up your callouses and finger strength better than anything; if all you play is electric guitar you turn into a rock & roll pu**y.

Busking is ok when it isn't 100 degrees out, but I agree with Jimmy (again!) - play some open mics to get your feet in places, get yourselves some laid-back acoustic gigs.

That's excellent man! Nice combo you've got going. A teacher to help you grow but also a fellow muse with similar goals doing it for the love of it! Sounds like a fun plan...
