Got Old Recordings?

29 years ago I was in a band called Miss de Meanor with my bass player Paul. We recorded rehearsal one night on a little cassette recorder. Years later I had the cassette recordings transferred to digital and mastered. A few of the tunes are featured on my player. Thanks to fb I have re-established contact with Charlie the singer/keyboardist and Rob the drummer. This Saturday I'm going to see Charlie's band at a local bar, hopefully I'll get Paul to go with me. Life is strange.

That's cool! I've been in touch with a couple of old band members via FB as well, one is into country music now, went and saw his band last year (although country is not my thing).

Heh heh, some of those old band mates I have no desire to see again! But these guys were really the coolest (I'm still playing with the bass player Paul). But damn, 29 years is a long time, I wonder what his band will sound like? I'll let you know.

Always been anal about taping practice and have countless hours of tape and cd's .....
Started with tapes in a boom box .... we would argue about where to place it - so your instrument would get heard .... tape quality sucks though
Later we would move onto mic's for everything .... sound quality got a bit better ...
I love going back and checking stuff out .... lots of stuff makes me cringe and some stuff I wonder how the heck I did that .....
I am also back jamming with a dude from my 1st band from '89 .... full circle , man
:D

Very cool DG! I wished I would have recorded more in my younger days, especially those rehearsals where everyone just jams freestyle and it's magic.

Takes one to know one asshole. I was playing music when you were still watching cartoons. I have yet to hear you make anything I would call music, you plain suck ass.

After 30 years, I'm still waiting for you to pull out something that works... You cant. Not today, not ever.

I've got tapes of original songs I was working on in 1976!

And several tapes of my band playing at the Foxy Lady in Beaumont TX between 1978-1980

Awesome Yod, that's some old stuff. Better hurry and digitize those tapes before they turn into dust!

I found my Enactron Hollywood tapes from 1981. Five original songs on 2" 24tk tape with "The Citizens". I am going to have them converted to digital and remixed/remastered if there is anything left.

Fingers crossed.

My drummer Mike and I went to see Charlie's band last night, they were really good. Charlie told me that he recently learned Kim had passed away in 1999. In her honor I posted a few songs with her on lead vocals.
