Paul's son recorded our gig at the Dawghouse, it was just a little handheld recorder but you get the idea. I put "The Rover" on my player, you can also download it if you want.

Very cool version, I never heard anyone do it with a wah. You have a female vocalist? That helps on those high ones! We're covering "Freewill" by Rush and that last verse is a toughie for our singer.

Yeah man
Both of the bands Im in feature female vocals ....
>>> secret weapons <<<<

Power Animal is more a original band - its my buds project and he loves wah.... I am there to fill out the sound and rock out - gotta support your buddy's anyway you can !
At that gig I was paid (1) beer and (1) hamburger

Money is not the reason to rock, you can't buy memories! We are finally making decent money but it takes a long time.

" Money is not the reason to rock "
Thats what I tell my band mates when I book us a crappy gig !

Been trying to get us booked doing private functions and " events " that dont require us to play 9.30- 2 am in a smoke filled dives .... its tough ... the nicer clubs want top-notch acts with fans .... and we are have neither !
:D

Your guitar sound and playing is epic!!
Bass is good.
Drums are good.
Singer has no business singing that.

+1
We as instrumentalists should avoid playing songs we can't play. We as vocalists should avoid singing songs we can't sing.

Singers often get forced into singing things out of their range/domain by the rest of the band. Of course Johnny doesn't have the range to sing Zeppelin or Rush, but that didn't stop a roomful of people from dancing and singing along. I give him props for trying to appease the rest of the band, the set lists would be quite different if we only played songs in his range. And to be fair, we dropped the Guns and Roses and AC/DC tunes because they were too far out of his range. Bottom line, we had fun, we got paid, the owner liked it and rebooked us and people enjoyed it.

Your guitar parts on The Rover sounded perfect. Better than Page live, in some ways. Same with the singer.

That is almost ditto my challenges as a singer in the 80s. I loved Zep but couldn't really pull many of their songs off credibly, so we only did a few of the lower singing range songs like "Communication Breakdown" or Moby Dick (a drum solo). Then I saw Zep live and realized that Plant couldn't do it either without double-tracking the recordings in falsetto.

Yet Jimmy Page was the biggest influence on my guitar playing and I always wanted to sing every Zep song!

No AC/DC, Rush, or Guns-n-Roses for me either. But I have no respect for Axle Rose as a singer, anyway. He's a poser that can't really sing.
