Bass players are in shot supply because everyone wants to be a guitar hero. Bass players are generally in the background, keeping the beat. An important but often unheraled role.

At times Ive found its not hard finding a bass player, Its hard finding a 'GOOD' Bassist. Ive been singing lead vocals with various cover bands through the years. So I started playing bass around 12yrs. ago. Things are really just starting to click with singing lead vocals & playing bass for me. You could always ask a guitar player to switch to playing bass? Just a suggestion. Good luck finding your bass player..............Peace.

Indeed. When my dad was in a band they had a hard time finding a good drummer, but there were always loads of guitarists available.

I thought that bass players were the backbone of a band. You go into the guitar shops and there are bunches but no one has any interest when it comes down to it. A guitar player or keyboard player can play solo or with a band, not so with a bass player. Dont bass plyers need bands the same way bands need bass players. And if so where the heck are they all

Years ago I was a harp player/lead singer and we couldn't find a bass player. An incredible harp player became available so I took a crash course in bass and the rest is history. Still playing bass and singing lead, someone's gotta do it. Your friendly neighborhood bluesman fisherman bob...later...
