Thurs. night me and two friends went to a great open mic.We have been to this one before and felt pretty good.It so happens this was the last one for that venue so the host was glad we showed up.Now this is a good open mic mind you.Good stage, full band stuff.A couple of good amps to supply whatever your needs may be.So,we get up and planned on about three songs as to give everyone a chance to perform. We ended up doing 5 songs as we were asked to by the host. You know you can't go wrong when you do songs from "the band",Neil Young ,Dylan,Doors and Robert Johnson.
We didn't do so bad for some old dudes like us.It's like getting back in the saddle again.

Joe at least you proved you are a cool musician. Thanks for sharing your songs and music.

PS, just ignore me... I have a bad habit of calling out people that just spew BS. :)

Joe

Forget the age stuff - are less of a musician than your were 'x' years ago?

You ought to be better!

Glad you had a good show.

Getting back on stage can be traumatic or exhilarating, glad it was the 2nd option for you! 8)

Went to a friend's solo gig last night, he usually asks me to pick up a second guitar for songs in the last set. Instead he asked me to do a few songs during his break. Place was very dead (holiday weekend/people out of town), and I shouldn't have had a triple-bock and a double-bock before playing (he didn't warn me). Alcohol may be good for calming the nerves but is not good for lyric remembering!
