...When I was 21. My Band was "Ancient Otis". I was only a singer then. The pic is from a recent reunion minus the drummer. I drummed and sang for the reunion. The tracks are from my youth. Dig that first solo in "see".

Purty cool Paul! Next year is the 30 year anniversary of me and my bass player Paul's band Miss de Meanor.

Cool! It must be old home week. This Sunday we are hosting an Old School Jam at a local pub and a lot of players I worked with in the 70s are coming. All members from the band "Haven" will be there and we were best known for mainstream rock with rich vocal harmonies. Let's see if we still got it.

I suggested a get-together with a couple of old bandmates (38 years ago!) when I found a second one on Facebook. The bass player is into country music now (in fact he played with a few 'big' names) and the harp player has done work with some local blues greats. They both said it would be fun, but really showed no real enthusiasm for it. :(

Thanks! I worked at an art supply store called mish mish (means apricot in arabic) in Roanoke. The band practiced there. We had the oldest working elevator in Roanoke. The elevator brand was Otis. 8) It was an Ancient Otis. We had grown tired of creating band names and finding out they were already in use. The last name before Ancient Otis was floodgate. We found 3 floodgates at the time. And that was before the internet was widely used. The guitarist from Ancient Otis went on to form a long lasting band called "Ceiling Fan" they were a fixture for well over a decade in the Athens GA music scene. Ironically "Ceiling Fan" played a show and had a band named floodgate open for them!
